Scottish indie quartet Frightened Rabbit have become a quintet with the addition of another guitarist to swell their ranks and help with the live sound.

Gordon Skene, formerly of Make Model, will play with the band on their November tour.

Lead Rabbit Scott Hutchison told Pop Cop: “A lot of the new record is heavily layered and it felt like too much for the four of us to do. We need another member to get them at their full impact. I dunno, we’re kind of bored of each other. We just need to add some fresh meat.”

Frightened Rabbit was initially a solo Hutchison project, so we presume by 2015 their numbers will have swelled to Polyphonic Spree proportions. The band currently comprises of Scott Hutchison (vocals, guitar), Billy Kennedy (guitar, keys), Grant Hutchison (Drums, vocals), Andy Monaghan (bass, keys, guitar) and Gordon Skene (guitar, keys).

The band’s third album The Winter Of Mixed Drinks will be out March next year.
