England manager Fabio Capello has decided that there will be no official World Cup track released by the England squad.

Capello has long been trying to rid the setup of the squad of all outside distractions so the team can just focus on their football. This latest cutback will mean there will be no messing around in studios for the players in the build up to next year’s finals in South Africa.

Take That were rumoured to have been in the running to release the official track, following in the footsteps of Embrace with their dull World At Your Feet in 2006.

The News of the World reports that an England ‘insider’ said: “There were a lot of big names wanting to record a song. Very big names.

“But Fabio does not want anything that could possibly detract from the preparations – even in the slightest of ways.”

We got a huge reaction to our last World Cup track piece so we’re opening it up to you. If you’re involved with a World Cup track, or have a recommendation of one for us, send us a link where we can hear or download the track to worldcuptrack@themusicmagazine.co.uk and we’ll round up the best in a special Singles Club closer to the finals and get behind our favourite song.
