Brian Laws has added to his squad further with the addition of two more signings on deadline day.

David Nugent predictably rejoins the club from Portsmouth on loan until the end of the season after his parent club, the financially stricken Portsmouth, agreed to let him go. Nugent has three goals already for Burnley this season.

Secondly, Jack Cork has signed on loan from Chelsea. The Cork signing was widely expected but still represents a minor coup for Laws. Cork is versatile but will probably play in the heart of midfield for Burnley.

Meanwhile, the rumoured move for Tyrone Mears from Sunderland never materialised and neither did anyone come in for Robbie Blake.

But Jay Rodriguez and Jonathan Lund did both leave the club on loan, Lund to Rotherham and Rodriguez to Barnsley. The first team experience should do them both good.
